Dress Code

 

 

Rachel’s Ballet has a required dress code for the classroom and for the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) examination.  Colors correlate with grade levels.  Small items such as handkerchiefs or pillows may also need to be purchased for character dances; Ms. Rachel will inform your student if these are necessary.  For recital costume information, please see the Recital web page.

 

Students’ appearance in class must be neat and clean at all times.  Dancewear is to be kept in good repair and laundered on a regular basis.  Students are expected to observe good personal hygiene habits.  Sweat-pants/shorts and plastic pants/shorts may not be worn during any portion of the class.  Tight fitting leg-warmers are permitted at the barre only.  No heavy jewelry.

  • NOTE:  The Dress Code for “Tights” has changed for Grade 1 and above.  “9 by Capezio” (in Classic Pink) are professional seamed mesh tights that will be required.  These are transition tights (convert from footed to footless). They are available in three sizes but tend to run small in size:  Child (One-size-fits-all), Adult Small/Medium, or Adult Large/X-Large.
